My name is Bethany Potter and I am 17 years old.
My birthday is October 14th. I'm 5'7" with curly, dirty blonde hair . I was born in
Anaheim, California and I lived there for the first 6 years of my life.
After that, moved to Washington (State, not D.C.) and have been living
here ever since.
I have 3 siblings, 2 brothers and one sister. Rebecca
(14) is going to be a freshman this year. She is home schooled and
takes some classes at Leota. Daniel (10) and Michael (7)
are in 4th and 2nd grade at Cedar Park.
Other Family: Mom's side-Grandma Marge, Grandpa Potter,
Aunt Tammy, Uncle Bob, Christine(22), and Kirsten(18). Dad's side-
Aunt Kris, Uncle Steve, John(18), Justin(17), and Jeremy(15).
That's really the extent of my family...sad huh?
I play one sport...SOCCER!! I play for my school, Cedar
Park, and we've been to the state championships for 4 years running!
We're hoping to make it 5 years, but this year is a rebuilding year so
we'll see.
Another major interest I have is drama! I have been
involved in it for as long as I can remember. I've been in
countless plays, such as, "Dad's Christmas Miracle", by Pat Cook; "The
Victor" a play put on every year at Easter time by my church; and I
played a major role backstage during my schools play "You Can't Take It
With You" by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, just to name a few
recent ones.
Music is a HUGE part of my life. Not only do I
like listening to it, but I enjoy singing it and playing it as well.
I am involved in my church's choir, Impact, and I am a self taught
bassist. I've been playing for 2 years.
Currently I am taking lessons to improve, but for most of my bass career
I've been on my own. Interestingly enough, playing bass
introduced me to my best friend Aryn. We were sitting in class,
and I started talking about playing bass (not knowing anything about
her). When I said "I play bass" she told me that she did too.
We became instant best friends! Before I played Bass, I played clarinet
in my school band. I gave up band for drama in 7th grade.
This year I am going to be a Junior at Cedar Park and I
will be working hard so I can get into the college that I want to get
into for my hopefully successful linguistic future. It's going to be
hard, because I have things like...school, homework, soccer, the school
play, and possibly a job.
This last summer was very busy for me. I went to
Wisconsin, Chicago, Mexico, and Oregon. The reason I went to Wisconsin
is because my cousin, John, graduated from high school at South High (he
moved back to California), and the Chicago trip was with my youth choir.
Our family vacation this year was to Acapulco, Mexico (my 2 brothers
didn't go) we stayed there for about a week. I want to go back
there! My youth group took a trip to Maupin, Oregon for a rafting trip
on the Deschutes River. That is the extent of my summer vacation
travels.
Yes, I do know I'm a geek...but I don't care!
