Here you will find many things pertaining to my love for
linguistics, languages and anything foreign!
- Italy - I don't really know why, but I have a
fascination for Italy! I'm learning Italian on my own, if I even
hearing the word Italy, I perk up, trying to find out more about
it.
- Travel - I love traveling, I could go anywhere.
I live for it! I could go on a trip, get back, wash my
clothes, and then leave right away for another trip!
- Languages- Languages have really sparked my interest and
I spend a lot of time looking up stuff. I wish I could
learn more than one languages. I'm hoping it will happen.
Online, I have found many language translators, here are
just a couple:
- Andrea's Web Site - This is the link
for my good friend's web site. Enjoy!
- Linguistics - I have been drawn toward
this subject and have searched online for sites that could
help me obtain my goals. Here is a link for the
Linguist List:
- Aryn Blase - Aryn is my best friend. Some people would go so far as to say we are
twins. Our own families have mixed us up! We are a lot
alike and enjoy the same kinds of things.
- Languages I'm interested in learning anything about:
- Italian -I've
already told you about my fascination.
- Ancient Italian-kind
of goes along with Italian
- Spanish- learning it
in school, might go to Spain. It just seems like a
logical idea of a language to study. There is also the
point that it is very similar to Italian (since they have
the same base language and all)
- Welsh- I'm part
Welsh...and I'd like to know more about my heritage.
- Swedish-I'm also
part Swedish, and the same goes for Swedish and it does for
Welsh
- French-I want to
maybe visit France some day, it would be nice to know
something about it, don't you think?
- Latin-goes along
with the Ancient Roman history.
- Ancient
Greek-incase you haven't
guessed, this goes with the Ancient Greek history.
- Greek-same as above.
- Norwegian-I'm just
curious about all places by/in Europe.
- Scottish-I'm part
Scottish, and Scotland has always interested me.
- Irish-Really close
to Scotland, just as interesting.
- Gaelic (Galician)-it's
one of the languages that introduced many of the modern
names today. I'd like to know more...wouldn't you?
- Finnish-near Sweden
and Wales.
- Danish-same as above
- Turkish-my best
friend, Aryn, has been on missions trips to Turkey and she
has told me many fascinating things. She has
definitely piqued my interest.
- Turkmen-same as
above.
- Ancient Arabic-I've
always been interested in Biblical languages and the like.
- Arabic-see above
- Aramaic-see above
- Palestinian-see
above
- Persian-see above
- Ancient Egyptian-I've
always loved learning about Egypt.
- Israeli (Hebrew)-see
Ancient Arabic
- Brazilian-I met a
guy in Mexico who learned to dance in Brazil (he was really
good) I figure, if they can dance that good there...I want
to know more about them
- Portuguese-close to
Spanish
- Ethiopian-Studied
Ethiopia a little.
- Jamaican
-Random...I know, but I'd still like to know more
- Polish-I read an
autobiography on a Polish Jew who grew up during Jewish
persecution. Sounds interesting.
- Sanskrit- Another
language that introduced many names we still use today.
- Saudi Arabian
-My dad lived there for 2 years
- Croatian-Don't know
anything about it.
- Raetho-Romance
-I saw it in a list of languages...it sounds
interesting...I haven't looked into it at all, but I thought
it wouldn't hurt anything to write it down.
I know I can't KNOW all these languages, I just think it
would be cool to know things about all the languages and the
cultures (even if it's just a little bit). There are a
few on here that I want to become fluent in, but I'm taking
things one step at a time.
